This American landing craft was imported to Britain for the filming of Saving Private Ryan. It was stored for many years before being purchased by a local film supply company. Nick Gates & Co refurbished her for a BBC docu-drama on D-Day in 2004. Although constructed of GRP, the interior was fitted with timber frames to mimic that of the earlier wooden landing craft. She was returned to as-new condition before being 'made-over' by the film company with spray-on rust and dirt! Her Detroit 2-stroke supercharged diesel was brought back to life especially for the Yarmouth Old Gaffers 2004, pictured below.
