Ajax is a beautiful West Country Gaffer. She was built on the beach in Cornwall in 1886 and is now offered as a restoration project. Her current owner has had her for 30 years, but she now requires substantial work to both hull and decks. The deck was replaced several years ago, but poor quality work means that it needs doing again. The engine has not been run for 6 months or so.

Ajax is 28ft LOA, with a displacement of 10 tons. She has internal concrete ballast. The bowsprit, mast, boom and gaff are in sound condition.

Ajax has been admired at many a Breton festival and has spent several summers in the West Country (latest 2007).

Currently lying ashore at Emsworth, Hampshire.
